How many Easter Eggs did you enjoy over Easter? We all enjoy having our chocolate eggs at Easter and it has become a symbol for celebrating the Christian message of Jesus raising from dead 3 days after being killed. The egg symbolises life bursting out of the dead-looking shell. Jesus coming out of the enclosed tomb where He lay. The angel said to the women who had come to the tomb “Why are you looking for the living among the dead? He is not here, He has risen” Luke 24 v 5-6.
Jesus had already said to them that this would happen to Him. “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and the third day raise again” (Luke 24 v 7).
What does it mean to us? New life available to all. Truly a message of hope and joy and eternal life. Believe on the Lord and you will be saved. As Christians we celebrate His Death, Resurrection and in 40 days His Ascension.
Egg-citing news indeed for all ! In the words of the old hymn:
“Up from the grave He arose,
With mighty triumph over His foes,
He arose the Victor of the dark domain and He Lives forever with his saints to reign.
He arose, He arose, hallelujah! Christ arose”.
That is truly something to be excited about!
